Atlas pandemica: the geography of power

Eight residents of Dumfries and Galloway, covering eight decades, were interviewed about how power works in the region and how they would like power to work in the region. This was supplemented with a postcard pack, sent to over 100 others, who could respond to the same questions anonymously. The patterns of these answers evolved to create two movement scores/ maps: what is and what could be. These scores are designed to be chalked onto town squares, inviting groups of local people to participate by moving through the score - creating both a public spectacle and a personal experience. The movement practice is followed by facilitated conversations inviting participants/ observers to respond to what they felt and what they saw, leading to thoughts about the impact of governance, autonomy and community organising.
